Easy Christmas Idea #2 ~ Leftover Christmas Lights

Today I am sharing the second in a series of Christmas ideas.

Easy Christmas Ideas ~A series at Blue Clear Sky~

I will be sharing some simple ideas for Christmas decorating using items you may already have or that you can find inexpensively. My goal is to inspire readers looking for affordable and easy ways to decorate this Christmas. Your style may be different than mine, but many of the ideas can be altered to suit your taste.

Easy Christmas Idea #2 ~ Leftover Christmas Lights

Do you have broken Christmas light strands or have you switched to energy efficient bulbs? Don't throw away the old bulbs. Gather assorted coloured bulbs, or just your theme colours, and pop them in a glass vase, under a cloche or in a basket for some inexpensive Christmas decor.

Did you miss any of the other posts in this series?

So easy and a wonderful way to re-use and re-cycle too!

That is a cute idea. I love those old style bulbs. Those are what I grew up with before they changed everything to the little lights we have now.

Love this series Elizabeth.

Great idea for using leftover lights.

I like this idea and have been doing that with my vintage skinny colored bulbs for a few years. They look like candy in a jar. :)

What a cool idea! They would even look neat painted with dabs of glitter or ribbon! I think I'm gonna try it....andrea@townandprairie

I've even collected vintage, unusable bulbs and displayed them this way. For some reason our bulbs like this don't ever burn out... they break!

This is such a hit with me. My folks always had those types of lights as that is all there was but I think they are beautiful and wonderfully vintage looking and I love the way you gathered them for display. Great series!!!

This photo, and others in the series, are from last year and the year before. I'm still working on my Christmas stuff this year.
